Cell and molecular neurobiological studies of Alzheimer's Disease: We seek highly motivated candidates with either a BS/MS/Ph.D in biological sciences for a full-time position that involves the study of disease mechanisms in cellular and transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: histology and immunocytochemistry of fixed and/or paraffin embedded tissues and cultured cells; use of in vivo and in vitro molecules and methodologies; microscopy; cell biology techniques such as cell culturing and transfection/transformation; data analysis and interpretation of results. Unique research training opportunities are available that combine molecular, cell biological, morphologic, and biochemical approaches in a multidisciplinary setting at an internationally recognized center. We are located at the Center for Dementia Research at the Nathan Kline Institute, an affiliate of NYU School of Medicine, 15 miles North-West of the GW Bridge on the campus of Rockland Psychiatric Center. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: cell bilology techniques such as cell/neuron culture and transfection/transformation; charcterizaton of disease phenotypes in genetic engineered mice, immunocytochemistry, advanced microscopy and image analysis; and bioinformatics.


BS/MS/Ph.D in biological sciences.

Previous laboratory experience with molecular, biological and/or structural techniques is highly desirable.
