JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Applications are currently being invited for a Clinical Coordinator position available under the direction of Dr. Russell Tobe, at the Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research (NKI). The NKI is focused on understanding the underlying biology of and advancing treatments for psychiatric illnesses including Anxiety Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mood Disorders, and Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders. The primary tasks of the Clinical Coordinator will be to oversee community outreach and collaboration as well as manage the Volunteer Recruitment Pool (VRP), a centralized and shared resource at NKI for evaluation and referral of research participants to various research protocols.   The Clinical Coordinator would perform diagnostic evaluations and other clinical ratings both in their role as manager of the VRP but, if needed, also in support of other research protocols.

  • The Clinical Coordinator would join a multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, research nurses, psychologists, research assistants, and rotating trainees/interns. The Clinical Coordinator will provide diagnostic evaluations, conduct clinically based research-ratings, assist in protocol management including IRB and compliance, collaborate with community referral agencies and other NKI research groups, manage community-based outreach, and coordinate with families and individuals interested in research participation. Responsibilities will include any combination of behavioral, neuropsychological and psychiatric assessment; recruitment; and data management. If interested, opportunities for data-analysis and scientific publication will be available. If applicable, pathways to obtain clinical supervision hours for licensure are available in this position. While prior research experience is preferred, this is not necessary. Training will be provided, if needed. Salary is competitive and benefits include health, vision, and dental.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling or other related field OR at least 4 years of experience in clinical research coordination
  • Five-day workweek which may include weekend effort in rare circumstances
  • Must have access to a vehicle and valid driver's license
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Strong initiative and interest in community collaboration
  • This position involves contact with children.
  • Experience in working with pediatric and adult populations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications to administer research diagnostic psychiatric assessments or other clinical ratings.
