JOB DESCRIPTION:

An entry level position supporting biochemical and pharmacological studies using in vitro and in vivo models of fetal alcohol syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. Cell culture and animal handling experience is required. Experience in Western blots, qPCR, and histchemistry is a plus.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Preparation and treatment of mouse cortical neurons.
  • Testing toxicity and the effectiveness (against alcohol or Abeta toxicity) of small molecules.
  • Biochemical analyses of cultured cells and mouse brain using Western blot, qPCR, and immunohisto(cyto)chemistry.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degrees in sciences.
  • Small animal handling experience.
  • Experience in cell culture work.
  • Experience in biochemical (Western blots, qPCR etc.) and histological techniques strongly preferred.
