Individual will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator performing experiments in murine models and postmortem brain tissues of Alzheimer's disease and Down syndrome analyzing data and writing manuscripts in a collaborative environment. A Ph.D. or equivalent in neuroscience or related area is required. Candidate must have bench science experience and the ability to collect, analyze, and publish data as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals. Candidate must have the ability to work independently, be a motivated problem solver with excellent organizational skills, and have excellent communication skills for the effective operation of this position. Strong laboratory science and writing skills are essential. The individual must have practical, hands-on experience with either laser capture microdissection or RNA sequencing technology including RNA-seq library preparation and a basic understanding of bioinformatics..  


  • Animal handling & brain surgeries
  • Laser capture microdissection
  • RNA purification
  • RNA sequencing library preparation
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Behavioral testing


  • Ph.D. in neuroscience or related area
  • Experience with handling of small laboratory animals
  • Experience with brain research
  • Competence in one of the following: laser capture microdissection or RNA preparation including purification and library preparation for sequencing
